2/8 (SUNDAY): Waterfall Wonderland! ๐Ÿ’ฆ Plus Ladybug Love ๐Ÿž, Banana Slugs ๐ŸŒ + Funghi Hunt ๐Ÿ„, + Rock Climbing ๐Ÿง—โ€โ™€๏ธ

from $0.00

Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, 10:30 a.m. โ€” 12:45 p.m.

With the recent rains, our local waterfalls are FLOWING and absolutely spectacular right now! Join us for a winter wonderland adventure where we'll explore three rushing waterfalls, hunt for colorful mushrooms and leopard-spotted banana slugs, and search for clusters of ladybugs (did you know a group of ladybugs is called a "loveliness"? Perfect for Valentine's season! ๐Ÿ’•).

WHAT TO EXPECT

Winter waterfalls in full force ๐Ÿ’ฆ: This is a seriously special hike since there are 3 gorgeous, rushing waterfalls - and with the recent rains, they're at their most dramatic and powerful right now! Beautiful backdrops for family photos and so fun to splash in (if you dare brave the cold!).

Funghi hunt ๐Ÿ„: Try to find the turkey tail funghi growing along the logs! Winter is actually one of the best times for funghi spotting, and with all the rain we've had, they're popping up everywhere. There are quite a few other varieties as well, and we can have some fun learning the names of all of them!

Leopard spotted banana slugs ๐ŸŸข: Perhaps you've seen a yellow banana slug, but have you seen a leopard-spotted GREEN banana slug?! The color of the slugs can vary depending on their diet and the amount of moisture in their environment, and the slugs in this area are rather strikingly different than their yellow cousins!

Ladybug love ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ’•: Can you find the ladybugs? This lovely wooded area is home to ladybugs, and when they cluster on the branches of the trees and bushes, it's a sweet sight to see. Did you know that a group of ladybugs is called a "loveliness"? How perfect for this Valentine's season! We'll have a special Valentine-inspired craft for the kids to celebrate these adorable little beetles.

Rock climbing fun ๐Ÿง—โ€โ™€๏ธ: Got some adventurous climbers? There are some fun rock scrambling opportunities along the trail where the kiddos can test their climbing skills!

๐Ÿ” Scavenger Hunt: Your kids will embark on a fun scavenger hunt and get a non-edible treat!

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Meet Other Families: Connect with other adventurous families and enjoy the great outdoors together!

We look forward to welcoming you + your family on the trail!

With changes to tariffs and import policies, we have faced significant price increases and time delays for our educational supplies so we really need families to sign up early so each child will get their treats.

    • One pass covers a family, meaning parents and children (you can bring an extra person on your pass, but 2 extra people will need to buy their own pass). One person extra is only for one-day hiking trips; not for multi-day events

    • After 1 kid, $10 charge for each additional child to cover treats + educational materials. The fee applies to your oldest child(ren) first

  • Every 10th: For every 10th family who signs up for this outing, we can welcome a family for free. This is geared toward low income families. We don't check income; this is an honor system.

Note: Families joining under the Every 10th program must still pay for their kayak rental (please see kayak rental fee section on this page).

If you want to join under the Every 10th program, please write Every 10th in the payment section. When deciding, we will give priority (among other factors) to those who have never joined an outing to ensure that everyone gets a chance to attend.
