Sarah Wilson
Sarah Wilson was born in Germany, grew up in Vermont and moved to the Bay Area 7 years ago. Her daughter Willow (now almost 6) was a baby when COVID started, so she spent most of her time hiking all the trails in the area with Willow and her dog, Tui and got to know them very well! When her son, Alder (now almost 4) was born, she became accustomed to finding more toddler-friendly trails so that Willow could hike while she carried Alder. Now she is excited to show you and your family the wonderful trails this area has and all the hidden wonders of the woods! She also has fun coming up with creative ways to enjoy nature, such as making tea from the sagebrush we find while hiking, bringing ribbons to decorate walking sticks and finding wild sourgrass for the kids to munch on as we hike.
When she isn’t hiking, Sarah enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible. You can usually find her biking, backpacking, shopping at farmers markets, or running after her children on their bikes (they have gotten fast!).

Mahsa Nicknam
I’m Mahsa Nicknam and I’m thrilled to co-lead this program alongside you and your children. My joy of camping and connection to nature began when I joined Miranda’s camping trip with my little one at just 8 months old—a moment that opened up a whole new way of seeing the world.
I hold a PhD in Architecture and Building Construction and have worked in both academia and industry. Today, I run my own construction company in the Bay Area, where I specialize in building custom homes and helping families bring their dreams to reality.
Nature continues to be the fuel for my life, and I’m deeply passionate about creating spaces—both built and natural—where families can connect, grow, and make lasting memories. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to share these upcoming adventures with you. 🌿

Arren Mendezona Allegretti
I’m Arren Mendezona Allegretti and I am thrilled to guide and co-create special moments with you and your children as we experience the wonders of California’s natural history, especially here in SF Bay Area. I have been doing both formal and informal education on ecology since 2002 and my love for being outside and learning from people, communities, and nature continues to inspire me everyday. I obtained my PhD in Ecology and MS in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources. I also have two wonderful and wild neurodivergent children, Anita and Antonio, who definitely keep me on my toes as they point out all the fascinating quirks of nature❤️ I am excited to meet all of you and your children during the upcoming hikes and I am truly thankful for the opportunity to spend this time with you and your family.
