Friday, March 27 β€” Sunday, March 29, 2026

23 million years ago several volcanoes erupted, flowed and slid to form what would become Pinnacles National Park β€” and it does not disappoint: We'll explore rare talus caves with waterfalls, lunch by a beautiful lake and check the skies for peregrine falcons, golden eagles and the California condor, a majestic bird that went extinct in the wild and is now making a strong comeback!

WHAT WE'LL ENJOY πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

πŸ”¦πŸ¦‡πŸͺ¨πŸ’¦πŸŒΊ INCREDIBLE BAT CAVE EXPLORATION: Wear headlamps, hear the sounds of running waterfalls in the caves that's home to a rare bat population, see early spring wildflowers. Why do we go now? Because there is the potential to explore a second set of caves that is only open a few days a year. We won't know until the day of our hike if these special caves will be open.

🌊🐍🐸🎣 πŸͺ¨ RELAX BY STUNNING LAKE + 'BEACH' ringed by terrific talus rocks that's home to swimming snakes 🐍 (and yes, we have seen them a few times!! And no, they didn't come on land πŸ˜†πŸ˜†). The kids will have a blast pretend "fishing" from the "beach" while looking for snakes + frogs 🐸

⛰️πŸͺ¨πŸ” ROCK IDENTIFICATION & GEOLOGY FUN! Learn about volcanic rocks, identify different stone types and discover how 23-million-year-old eruptions created these incredible formations. Hands-on earth science for kids!

πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦… CALIFORNIA CONDOR CHASING: We'll keep our eyes on the skies, using binoculars and the MMH telescope to spot these incredible creatures! Yes, we have spotted them on our trips here before and have a great spot to go see them!

🐰🎨🍫 EASTER CAMPSITE CELEBRATIONS: Easter treats and festive crafts for the kids at camp. Goodie bags included!

🌿🌺 πŸ› SPOT BUGS +SPRING FLOWERS: Such a great time of year to be in this normally dry, deserty park! Wildflowers, bugs + lush green abounds!

πŸ”πŸ—ΊοΈ Scavenger hunt with your kids and educational activities for families

πŸŽ¨πŸ–οΈ Toy and arts-and-craft station for the kids when we're not out adventuring

πŸ”₯🍫 Classic camping fun: Campfire, stories, s'mores, stargazing and quality time away from screens

πŸŒΏβ™»οΈ LEAVE NO TRACE ADVENTURE: Learn how to be responsible outdoor explorers! Kids discover how to protect nature for future adventurers while having fun outdoors.

πŸ•οΈβ€οΈπŸ«‚πŸ€²πŸ½ COMMUNITY, FRIENDSHIP + SUPPORT: Instant 'playdate' for your kiddos! We usually have kids from toddlers up to tweens join, with all of the kids playing together! You might see old MMH friends + hopefully make some new ones, too! MMH offers all kinds of support: Need help setting up your tent? Forgot an important piece of gear? Broke a piece of gear? Solo parenting on the adventure and need some extra support? We got you!

NOTE: We have reserved multiple individual campsites that are next to or near each other (not a group campsite). We'll pair families with their friends who have joined or with families who have kids the same age to create our camping community. PLEASE READ OUR CAMPSITE DESCRIPTION & DISCLAIMER below.

  • The campsites are on a flat area with fire pits and grills, plus parking spaces, picnic tables and storage locker. The ground is a mix of dirt, sand and grass.

Most of the campsites are NOT shaded.

The restrooms and showers are nearby.

All of the campsites are connected to one another. We’re in an area with several campsites and only one of them is booked by folks not in our group.

PARKING at CAMPSITE. The campsites vary in number of cars allowed. Depending on our numbers, we’ll have to utilize other available parking and will figure out on site. Since campsites are next to each other, parking should still be close to campsites.

  • What We Provide

We are focused on providing the best family camping experience possible by offering families the chance to join a community of like-minded families who love the outdoors. We handle all the planning for busy parents, organizing well-planned, fun and educational activities like hiking, kayaking and caving, while providing camp classic experiences like S'mores and stories around the campfire, plus arts and crafts. Our goal is to create memorable adventures while managing all the logistics so you can focus on making memories with your family.

    Campsite Reality & Expectations

We work hard to secure the best available campsites for our group while managing the realities of California's extremely competitive camping landscape. Booking campsites in California is challenging, with only seconds to secure anything when reservations open, if availability exists at all.

Campsite conditions vary significantly and may include:

    • Different ground surfaces (grass, dirt, or gravel)

    • Sloped or uneven terrain

    • Varying levels of shade (from heavily wooded to open sun)

    • Different views and proximity to water features

    • Natural wildlife including wasps, insects, and other critters

    • Varying noise levels from other campers

    • Different facility conditions and accessibility

    • Parking offsite: In some cases, families will have to park in overflow parking when number of vehicles exceed the maximum per site. Overflow parking could be a walk or drive away. The guide will drive you to your car if need be.

Group camping logistics: When group campsites aren't available, we book individual campsites as close together as possible, though proximity cannot always be guaranteed. In these situations, we designate one site as "Camp HQ" for group activities like S'mores, arts and crafts, and community gatherings. You may need to walk or drive short distances between your assigned campsite and Camp HQ.

Weather and environmental factors: Outdoor conditions including weather, temperature, and natural elements are beyond our control and can affect your camping experience.

    Agreement

We do not make promises about specific campsite features, views, terrain, or conditions. Our commitment is to secure the best available sites and provide exceptional programming and community experiences. By booking with us, you acknowledge and accept these conditions as part of the authentic outdoor camping experience.
