(7/27) Nature's Seesaw! Labyrinth! Bike Park! Berry Tasting! Playground + Nearby Beach (Half Moon Bay Area)
Sunday, July 27, 10:00 a.m.
Start with a wander in the shade of huge eucalyptus trees, then play on a nature-made seesaw, race around a rock labyrinth, and enjoy a toddler/kid friendly bike park and playground! This coastal oasis is a perfect summer spot to cool off and enjoy a break from the heat.
🌳 🪨 Seesaw and Labyrinth: A nature-made seesaw stands right next to a rock labyrinth, so the little ones can take turns on the seesaw while everyone runs around the labyrinth! With a backdrop of a beautiful old quarry surrounded by eucalyptus trees, this spot is truly idyllic.
🍓 Thimbleberries: No guarantee, but there should be plenty of thimbleberries around to snack on as we hike!
🌸🌼 Wildflowers: One huge bonus of the coastal region is that the wildflowers are plentiful and varied and bloom right through the summer! There are so many beautiful species here, and even some edible ones that we can taste!
🚲 Bike Park: My two kiddos absolutely love this bike park and are constantly asking to go there. It’s dirt, which is nice for any falls, and very toddler/kid friendly with plenty of balance bikes right along with the pedal bikes!
🛝 Playground: If any little ones have any extra energy to expend before the drive home, there is an amazing playground with swings, a huge climbing apparatus, and plenty of other play structures to get those last wiggles out!
🍔🍰🏪 Local Eats Adventure: After our hike, we'll refuel with lunch at a local favorite! The food is all locally sourced, and very kid-friendly with lots of picnic tables outside and a little play space for kids as well.
🔍🔍🔍 Nature Scavenger Hunt: Educational exploration cards and checklist for families to keep! Perfect for engaging even the littlest adventurers as they discover this Half Moon Bay treasure.
🏕️❤️🫂 Community, friendship + support: Instant 'playdate' for your kiddos! We usually have kids from toddlers up to tweens join, with all of the kids playing together. You might see old MMH friends + hopefully make some new ones, too! We also offer all kinds of support: Forgot baby wipes? Need more snacks? Solo parenting on the outing and need some extra help? We got you!
📖🔍🗺️Explore part of the Bay Area! We will include tips on what to see in this part of the Bay Area to make the outing more of a day trip adventure, if you like!

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY/MODERATE. There are two parts to this hike:
PART ONE: We hike up about 0.5 miles and there is a great spot for kids to play along the creek. The hike up involves stairs and a narrow single track trail on a hillside. We take our time along this very short stretch (about 10 feet).
PART TWO: For the more adventurous, the trail goes another 0.5 miles back to the plank bridge and rock playing area. There are other narrow stretches of trail on the hillside; we just take our time (yes, we’ve done this hike with toddlers before)
Strollers are not recommended for this hike; backpack or front-facing carriers are better.
Total distance is about 2 miles
