What to expect:
🐦🦋🐛🐢🦆🐌 WILDLIFE! Birds, butterflies, and banana slugs galore!
💦💦💦 Lagoon, Tiny Waterfalls + Creek: So much water flowing through this forest! Wonderful water play for the kids, relaxing times for the parents creekside, and amazing photo opps for families.
🪨🪵🪨 Creek Exploration: Kids will can explore along the creek and get a fun adventure that will lend itself to their imaginations.
🌸🌼🪻🌲Wildflowers + LUSH GREEN REDWOOD FOREST! We'll hopefully catch late-season wildflowers. Enjoy the flowers and the beautiful shades of green everywhere!
🔍🔍🔍 Scavenger hunt: Educational flash cards, checklist for families to keep! Even informative for the littlest littles
🏕️❤️🫂 Community, friendship + support: Instant 'playdate' for your kiddos! We usually have kids from toddlers up to tweens join, with all of the kids playing together. You might see old MMH friends + hopefully make some new ones, too! We also offer all kinds of support: Forgot baby wipes? Need more snacks? Solo parenting on the outing and need some extra help? We got you!

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY. There is a small water crossingin the beginning. After that, it's fine. Hike to the first waterfall is 0.5 miles. For the more adventurous, the trail goes another mile back. Strollers are not recommended for this hike; backpack or front-facing carriers are better.

EVERY 10TH: For every 10th family who signs up for this outing, we can welcome a family for free. This is geared toward low income families. We don't check income; this is an honor system. If you want to join under the EVERY 10TH program, please write EVERY 10TH in the payment section. When deciding, we will give priority (among other factors) to those who have never joined an outing to ensure that everyone gets a chance to attend.
