This urban gem offers water play, creek exploration, rock climbing and so much fun for the kiddos while offering calm for the parents amid the shaded Redwoods and soothing sounds of flowing water! After our hike, we'll go on a ‘local eats adventure’ — a perfect way to explore this charming community together.

What to expect:

🐛🦋🌿🐌 WILDLIFE! Birds, butterflies, lizards and hopefully, newts! So many woodland creatures to discover! Plus, we’ll see how far along the blackberries are — and maybe we can taste some!!

💧💧💧 Creek Adventure + Bridges: Shaded creekside exploration where kids can splash and play! Cute, elevated bridges crisscrossing the creek to appreciate the towering Redwoods. Relaxing creekside moments for parents and amazing photo opportunities for families. NOTE: To reach the plank bridge, we’ll have to cross two short stretches of narrow single track trail on a hillside. Yes, we’ve done this with toddlers before. For those who don’t want to go up to the plank bridge; we have a great creekside play spot so there is something for everyone.

🪨🗿🪨 Boulder Climbing Fun: Kids will love scrambling over the amazing rock formations and boulders scattered throughout the park. A natural playground that will spark their adventurous spirit.

🌸🌼🌲 Second-Growth Redwoods + LUSH GREEN FOREST! Kids can play in the tree thrones, while parents walk among towering trees in this magical woodland setting. Enjoy the cool shade and breathe in that fresh forest air while enjoying cool plants along the way!

🎨🖍️🌳 Beetle Bark Art Project: We'll bring paper and crayons to create beautiful bark rubbings right on the trail! Kids will love discovering the unique textures and patterns of different trees while making their own nature-inspired masterpieces to take home.

🍔🍰🏪 Local Eats Adventure: After our hike, we'll refuel with second lunch/snacks at an awesome local diner and grab sweet treats at a neighborhood sweets shop! A perfect way to explore this charming community together.

🔍🔍🔍 Nature Scavenger Hunt: Educational exploration cards and checklist for families to keep! Perfect for engaging even the littlest adventurers as they discover Oakland's natural treasures.

🏕️❤️🫂 Community, friendship + support: Instant 'playdate' for your kiddos! We usually have kids from toddlers up to tweens join, with all of the kids playing together. You might see old MMH friends + hopefully make some new ones, too! We also offer all kinds of support: Forgot baby wipes? Need more snacks? Solo parenting on the outing and need some extra help? We got you!

📖🔍🗺️Explore part of the Bay Area! We will include tips on what to see in this part of the Bay Area to make the outing more of a day trip adventure, if you like!
