Moms' Winter Retreat: Cozy Cabin in Old-Growth Redwood Forest — Yoga, Art & Fireside Connection

from $0.00

Saturday, Feb. 14 — Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026

Rediscover Your Wild Heart. Connect with Ancient Forest, Fellow Moms and Your Deepest Self

Imagine wandering through a cathedral of ancient redwoods draped in emerald moss, the forest floor alive with mushrooms and ferns.

Picture yourself journaling by a crackling fire, sharing soul-nourishing conversations with women who understand the beautiful exhaustion of motherhood, and sleeping to the sound of — wait for it, QUIET — in a cozy cabin.

Now that the New Year rush has settled, it's time to reclaim your breath. This retreat is your invitation to step into the quiet magic of winter, where the forest whispers its secrets of renewal, rest, and re-emergence.

February transforms the Santa Cruz Mountains into a luminous wonderland. Winter rains awaken the forest — fields glow impossibly green, mushrooms emerge from the damp earth, and the old-growth redwoods (some measuring up to 12 feet in diameter!) drip with life. Moss clings to everything. Banana slugs glide across the trail. Ferns unfurl. A babbling creek sings you deeper into the wild.

This is nature's season of deep rest before the burst of spring — a beautiful reminder that dormancy isn't emptiness; it's gathering strength. Just like you.

For this journey, all you need to do is show up with your sleeping bag and an open heart. We'll handle the rest as you embrace restoration, reflection and connection in the breathtaking wilds of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

WHAT AWAITS YOUR ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT:

🌲 Winter Wonderland in Ancient Redwood Forest

THIS is when the Santa Cruz Mountains come alive! Rain-soaked trails wind through some of the region's biggest old-growth redwoods — towering giants that have stood for centuries, holding space for your own growth. Every surface glows with moss and lichen. Mushrooms push through forest duff. The air smells of earth and rain and possibility. Our guided hikes reveal hidden wonders at every turn, from delicate ferns to unexpected wildlife. This isn't just a walk in the woods; it's stepping into a living, breathing masterpiece.

🏡 Cozy Cabin Sanctuary with Fire & Creature Comforts

All the soul-nourishment of wilderness, none of the suffering! Our partially heated cabin welcomes you with baseboard warmth, a crackling wood-burning stove, complete kitchen, and real beds with mattress pads. Hot meals prepared for you. Running water and actual restrooms. This is camping elevated — where you can get deliciously muddy on the trail, then return to warmth, comfort, and s'mores by the fire. The 2-mile hike in is rated easy to moderate, so you can carry just a daypack with your sleeping bag and personal items.

🔥 Fireside Magic, S'mores & Soul-Deep Connection

As twilight settles over the forest, we gather around the pot-belly stove's dancing flames (or the warm glow of the cabin fire) for storytelling, genuine laughter, board games, and marshmallows toasted to golden perfection. This is where masks drop and real friendships ignite. Share your dreams. Your struggles. Your hilarious mom moments. You'll be surrounded by women who get it.

🧘‍♀️ Soul-Nourishing Rituals: Yoga. Art. Journaling. Reflection

Greet Sunday morning with gentle yoga flows led by Miranda (25 years of practice, all levels welcome). Quiet your mind with reflective journaling — we'll provide you with a small journal to document your adventure. Create something beautiful with art supplies. Or simply sit in stillness and listen to what the forest has to teach you. This is YOUR time to fill YOUR cup.

🍃 Scavenger Hunt & Forest Exploration

Channel your inner child with a nature scavenger hunt through this enchanted landscape. Discover the forest's winter treasures: unique mushrooms, brilliant slugs, delicate moss formations. Solo exploration or group adventures — whatever calls to your spirit.

🍽️ Nourishing Meals Without the Work

Miranda brings simple, delicious vegetarian options for Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast. Gather around the table, share stories, and let someone else do the cooking for once. S'mores kit included for the group because what's a cabin retreat without melted chocolate?

🎨 Creativity & Quiet Time

This retreat honors both connection AND solitude. Curl up with a book. Journal your insights. Make art. Play board games with new friends. Watch a movie if the mood strikes. Or simply stare at the fire and let your nervous system finally, blessedly, rest.

🫶🏽🫶🏾🫶🏿 Your Mom Squad is Waiting

Come depleted, come energized, come exactly as you are. Whether you need deep restoration or can't-breathe laughter (probably both!), you'll find yourself surrounded by women who understand the beautiful weight of motherhood. Solo travelers especially welcome — instant friendships and shared wonder guaranteed.

Ready to trade your to-do list for moss-covered giants, crackling fires, heart-filling hikes and the quiet wisdom of winter? This is your invitation to remember who you are beneath all the roles you play.
