Adventures with Family Adventure Squad: A Year of Memories

There's something special about finding a community where both you and your little one feel completely at home. For me, that's been the Family Adventure Squad/Mommy & Me Hiking group.

My journey with this group started in 2025 at the pre-Easter egg hunt: a sunny morning of laughter, baskets and tiny feet racing across the grass. It was exactly the kind of moment that reminds you why these small traditions matter. In 2026, we ventured out to Uvas Canyon, swapping pastel eggs for canyon trails and creating a whole new set of memories along the way.

It's the people

What keeps me coming back isn't just the activities; it's the people. This is a small, close-knit group where everyone genuinely looks out for one another. Moms cheer each other on, kids make fast friends, and there's a real sense that we're all in this together. If you've ever wished for a circle of moms to share the messy, beautiful chaos of motherhood with, this is the place to find it.

Undistracted time together

These outings also give me something I don't always get in the rush of daily life: dedicated, undistracted time with my little one. Even though we're surrounded by a group, I can give her my full, 100% attention, with no chores pulling me away and no to-do list buzzing in the background. Just the two of us, exploring together, while still being part of something bigger.

Making the time

Life with kids gets full quickly. Weekends disappear into soccer practices, birthday parties, and a hundred other little obligations. That's why I make a point of joining these adventures at least a couple of times a year. They're a chance to slow down, get outside, and trade everyday routines for something memorable, with my child right beside me.

If you're a mom looking for connection, fresh air and a few good stories to take home, I can't recommend this group enough. Come for the adventure. Stay for the community.
